We, Fitjar Soapbox AS, are responsible for controlling your personal data. We believe in treating others’ data as we’d wish our own personal data to be treated; private, handled with care and respect. We understand that doing so is critical to preserving the trust and confidence of our customers.

How do we gather your data, and what kind of data do we collect?

Subscribing to our Islander newsletter

Our Islander newsletter sign-up form collects the below information:

  • Email address
  • Name
  • Gender
  • Country

By choosing to subscribe to our newsletter, you agree that you are happy for us to use your information, carefully and with respect, in accordance with our privacy terms; and for us to deliver it to MailChimp, the e-mail marketing processor we use to deliver them according to their privacy terms. Newsletter subscribers prior to 25.05.2018

On June 2018 the first Islander Newsletter after GDPR became effective was sent out to our existing mailing list. In this newsletter, all existing subscribers were informed about our updated Privacy Policy and were encouraged to opt-out of our newsletter by unsubscribing from it if they did not wish to hear from us anymore. If you have not actively done this, we assume you have given us your consent to keep contacting you. You are free to change your mind at any time and unsubscribe simply by clicking the unsubscribe link found at the footer of each of our Islander newsletters or by sending us a mail to hello@fitjarislands.no.

Purchasing Products

When purchasing products via our webshops fitjarislands.com and fitjarislands.no, placing an order in person at our foundry or at one of our temporary Pop-Up shops, or sending us an e-mail or an SMS with your order, we are required by law to gather and store the below information for tax audition:

  • Name
  • Email
  • Telephone number
  • Delivery information
  • Bank & credit and debit card details
  • Items ordered
  • Date of purchase

This information is used to confirm your identity, to confirm that your payment has been processed, to fulfill the delivery of your order and to contact with you whenever additional communication in regards to your order is needed, including orders that appear in our website with unsuccessful payment. The information may also subsequently be used to make relevant offers to you via our marketing channels. The information you provide us when placing your order is stored securely in our point of sale system, PCK, provided by our system provider Suppler AS; our e-commerce platform, Woo Commerce, hosted by Maksimer AS; our email-automation provider, Metorik; and our mobile payment system I-Zettle. Billing and credit or debit card information are stored securely by our payment suppliers Bambora AB, Vipps, and Paypal. Delivery information to deliver your orders is stored and securely managed by our shipping Logistra. All these companies are processors and sub-processors of your data and operate under the same data protection rules as we do. When you place an order with us in any form, you consent to allow us to deliver your information to our processors and sub-processors for the fulfillment of your order. Chat Support

 When you contact us via our support chat system we collect the following service data:

  • Name
  • E-mail address
  • Device and browser
  • IP address, location, language and time zone.
  • Chat transcript

This information is used to confirm your identity and to allow us to communicate with you live, or to contact by e-mail whenever our live chat support is not online to respond to you immediately. As the processor of your service data, Zendesk, our chat support system provider, securely keeps the information you deliver to us. We may request additional information during the chat if needed. By contacting us via our live chat system, you consent to allow us to deliver your information to Zendesk and their subprocessors for processing your inquiry.
